Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

There are quite a few simple things to enjoy in life -- re-runs of "Charles in Charge," crimped hair, pegged pants. But one of the best things to enjoy is dancing to great music from the 80s with your good friends. Some of the beautiful women got to have such an experience Saturday night.

One of the Single Adult wards hosted a dance that promised great music from the best decade for dance music. Sure enough, there were some totally killer tunes--Footloose, Take on Me, Thriller. Unfortunately, the DJ wasn't paying as close attention to his mix as he should have because there were a couple of repeats. I mean, I love "Crazy for You" by Madonna, but I don't want to hear it twice in an hour. Come on.

A definite positive at the dance was the number of fellas who asked girls to dance. It's always nice to see that there are guys not stuck in the 14-year-old mentality of being afraid to touch or talk to girls. Were all the guys crush-worthy? No, but we had a blast, and that's what matters.

And, of course, the beautiful women were the most sought-after and watched group there. It's no longer surprising that when we go out and shake our money-makers, the wondering crowd stands in awe of how much enjoyment we glean from attending the same event as them. We may not have been the best dancers in the room, but there was no one having more fun than us.

So, when will the next dance-a-thon be? Not sure. But if anyone out there knows of a dance that will give us the chance, let us know, and we'll be there.

Ladies, it was a pleasure. Now I gotta cut loose, footloose.
